THE CAUSES

The Hope Town Songwriters Festival 2025 is dedicated to raising funds for two essential local causes that help sustain and enrich the community of Elbow Cay. Proceeds from the festival will support the Hope Town Primary School, ensuring that local children have access to quality education and the resources they need to thrive. Additionally, the festival will benefit the Hope Town Volunteer Fire and Rescue, a crucial organization that provides emergency services and ensures the safety of the island's residents and visitors. By attending and supporting this event, festivalgoers contribute directly to the growth and well-being of Hope Town, making a lasting impact on the lives of those who call this beautiful island home.

HOPE TOWN PRIMARY SCHOOL

Founded in 1893, the Hope Town Primary School educates children from kindergarten through sixth grade. After being devastated by Hurricane Dorian, the school was rebuilt thanks to the generous support of donors and fundraising efforts. As a pillar of the community, it remains a vital institution where local children receive their education.

HOPE TOWN VOLUNTEER FIRE AND RESCUE

Hope Town Volunteer Fire and Rescue (HTVFR) is a dedicated group of volunteers committed to keeping the community safe. With two fire stations on Elbow Cay—one in Hope Town and the other in White Sound—HTVFR provides 24/7 emergency response for medical, fire, rescue, and wellness-check calls. Their marine vessel, Rescue One, is stationed in Hope Town Harbour. HTVFR also plays an active role in community education, offering fire safety classes at Hope Town Primary School, first aid training for teachers, and more. Their mission is to promote safety through knowledge and preparedness, ensuring the well-being of families and future generations.
